Ten years after opening private real estate to everyday investors, the firm has launched an AI operating system across its asset management and internal operations — reframing a decade of infrastructure as its most valuable asset.
United States, August 1, 2026 -- DiversyFund, one of the original real estate crowdfunding platforms launched following the 2012 JOBS Act, today marks its tenth year with the most significant evolution in its history: the company is becoming a technology company. DiversyFund has launched an artificial-intelligence operating system and begun rolling it across its asset management functions and its internal operating systems — the foundation of an AI-native investment platform built on ten years of real operating data.
The milestone reframes what DiversyFund is. For a decade, the firm was defined by a mission — democratizing access to private real estate for everyday investors. The infrastructure it built to deliver that mission — the systems for asset management, compliance, governance, and investor relations that run a regulated investment platform at scale — was, until now, a means to an end. Today, that infrastructure is the end. The platform itself, and the intelligence layer now running across it, is the company’s most valuable asset.
From Mission to Machine
“We spent ten years solving one problem: how do you let everyday people invest in things that used to be reserved for the few, and do it safely, compliantly, and at scale,” said Craig Cecilio, Founder and CEO of DiversyFund. “To do that, we had to build everything — the asset management, the compliance, the governance, the investor relations — and we had to make it actually work across more than 100,000 investor transactions and a decade of market cycles. Somewhere along the way we realized the real asset wasn’t any single fund. It was the machine we’d built to run all of it. Now we’ve put an AI operating system on top of that machine.”
That operating system is not a feature bolted onto an existing product. It is being integrated across the company — into how assets are managed and into the internal systems that run the business itself. DiversyFund is, in effect, becoming its own first customer: deploying an AI-native operating model internally before anything is offered beyond its walls.
Why a Decade of Data Matters Now
The shift rests on something most newcomers cannot replicate: operating history. Over ten years as a regulated platform, DiversyFund accumulated a structured record of how investors and real estate operators actually behave over time — across onboarding, communication, distributions, reporting, and full market cycles, including the turbulence that took down many of its post-JOBS Act peers. That record is what an AI operating system needs to be useful rather than ornamental.
“AI without proprietary data is a demo,” Cecilio said. “What makes this real is that the intelligence is trained on ten years of how a regulated investment platform actually runs — not on theory, not on someone else’s data. You cannot shortcut a decade.”
A New Narrative for an Old Industry
DiversyFund has argued publicly that the convergence of AI and real-time data is pushing private markets — underwriting, valuation, net asset value — from periodic estimates toward continuous execution. Today’s announcement is the company’s answer to its own thesis: rather than describe where the industry is going, DiversyFund is operating there now.
“The industry is full of firms talking about what AI will do to this asset class,” Cecilio said. “We’d rather be the firm that already did it. We’re not going to narrate the architecture or hand anyone a roadmap. What we’ll say is this: the next chapter of DiversyFund is technology, and the foundation is already running.”
Consistent with that approach, the company is deliberately withholding the specifics — the design of the operating system, its full capabilities, and the form its commercialization will take. What it is confirming is direction: DiversyFund intends for the technology it built to run its own platform to become a product in its own right over time.
The Through-Line: Access, Then Readiness
The framing the company wants to leave with the market is a simple two-act story. The first decade was about access — opening private real estate to investors who had been locked out. The next is about intelligence — making the platform that delivered that access smarter, faster, and ultimately available beyond DiversyFund’s own four walls.
A decade of data also clarified what access alone cannot solve. The population most often described as underserved is, more precisely, under-equipped — better served first by education and financial tools than by another offering. That insight is shaping how DiversyFund moves forward: the firm is concentrating its offerings where suitability is clear and pointing its technology toward the readiness that the data says comes first.
“Ten years ago we focused on who gets to invest. What the data taught us is that access without readiness isn’t a favor to anyone,” Cecilio said. “If it were up to us, everyone would pass a simple test of readiness before they invest. For a lot of people the right first step isn’t a deal — it’s education and the right tools. The next ten years are about building the intelligence to provide both. We started as a mission, and we’re becoming a technology company without ever giving it up.”
About DiversyFund
DiversyFund is a San Diego-based real estate and private credit investment platform and one of the original real estate crowdfunding platforms launched following the 2012 JOBS Act. Over the past decade the firm has processed more than 100,000 investor transactions while building the asset management, compliance, governance, and investor relations infrastructure required to run a regulated investment platform at scale. The firm focuses on capital preservation and durable income for accredited investors, family offices, and high net worth individuals, and is now evolving into an AI-native technology platform built on that decade of operating data — with a parallel commitment to the education and financial tools it believes should precede any investment decision. George Lucas and Mellody Hobson want their massive spaceship of a museum to be an experience. Female tech entrepreneurship is a rapidly growing field, but not all female founders, it seems, are shown equal treatment. That’s why Phoebe Gates, the 24-year-old daughter of now-divorced Bill and Melinda Gates, made headlines this summer as controversy surfaced over her AI-powered shopping app Phia, which she launched with her former Stanford University classmate Sophia Kianni just last year. Phia was, for all intents and purposes, a huge success story upon launch – the start-up counted Khloé...
