United States, October 9, 2026 -- For April Anderson, real estate has never been simply about selling houses. It has been about showing up, solving problems and doing whatever it takes to help her clients move forward. She began her career as a residential real estate agent, spending eight years with another brokerage learning the business from the ground up and building her reputation in Queen Creek and the Southeast Valley. During those years she developed not only a deep understanding of the local market, but also a philosophy that would eventually become the foundation of her own company: just work to serve.

April Anderson, Queen Creek Real Estate
That philosophy is simple, but April takes it literally. If a home needs staging, painting, repairs, updates or improvements before it goes on the market, she and her team help figure out how to get it done. If a problem comes up during a transaction, their job is to find the solution. For April, great representation isn't about putting a sign in the yard and waiting for an offer. It's about taking responsibility for the process and staying involved from the first conversation through closing.
After eight years as an agent, April took the next step in her career, earning her Arizona broker's license and opening Queen Creek Real Estate in January 2025. As owner and designated broker, she built the independent brokerage around the community where she had already spent years working, living and developing relationships. Today it serves buyers and sellers throughout Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and across the valley and surrounding areas. The brokerage is currently home to 14 agents and she intends to keep growing it. April doesn't just oversee those agents, she leads by example, and her Homes.com profile reports 209 closed sales totaling approximately $112.8 million in transaction volume over the past five years.
April believes experience is what matters most in being able to serve clients well. Buying or selling a home is often one of the largest financial decisions a person or family will ever make, and she believes real estate professionals have a responsibility to protect that investment. That means bringing knowledge and experience to the table, understanding the nuances of the local market, employing real negotiation skill, and maintaining the kind of work ethic that doesn't disappear when a transaction becomes difficult.
It's also why April has intentionally kept Queen Creek Real Estate locally focused. Knowing a market means understanding more than its median sales price or average days on market. It means knowing the neighborhoods, builders, streets, subdivisions and individual pockets that can behave completely differently from one another. That firsthand knowledge can change how a home should be priced, marketed or negotiated, and April believes clients deserve an agent who understands those differences.
Her approach is especially hands-on when representing sellers. Preparing a property for market may mean coordinating contractors, helping determine which improvements are worth making, staging the home, addressing repairs or changing strategy when the market gives unexpected feedback. April and her team don't see those challenges as someone else's problem. The same philosophy carries into buyer representation. In a world where consumers have access to more real estate information than ever before, April believes the value of a great agent isn't simply providing information, it's helping clients understand what that information means for their decision. Experience, strategy and negotiation become especially important when determining what to offer, which concessions to request, when to push and when walking away may be the better financial decision.
More recently, April and her team expanded north into Arizona's White Mountains under a second brand, Pine Country Real Estate. Both Queen Creek Real Estate and Pine Country Real Estate operate under the same brokerage, Queen Creek Real Estate LLC, with April serving as designated broker for both. She oversees the agents who live in that market and who strive to provide the same level of local knowledge and hands-on service to buyers and sellers in the mountain communities, including Valley clients purchasing second homes and White Mountains residents making a move to the Phoenix area.
Outside of real estate her life is centered around her family. She is married to her best friend and is part of a blended family with five children and two dogs, and when she isn't working she enjoys boating and wakesurfing, traveling, working on home and design projects, and continuing the personal development work that has played an important role throughout her life and career. From agent to broker, business owner and now the leader of two complementary Arizona real estate brands, April's philosophy has remained remarkably uncomplicated: work to serve, protect the client's investment, solve the problems, and never be afraid to do the work.

The last basket of dim sum is sold, the roller shutter comes down, and another Cantonese restaurant in Hong Kong closes. Nine months into 2026, this scene has already played out at least 30 times. The causes are familiar – sky-high rents, thin margins, rising costs, and dining habits reshaped by the pandemic years. Legislative Council figures show that between 2018 and 2025, the number of Cantonese restaurants and banquet halls in Hong Kong fell from 1,790 to 1,500, representing a 16 per cent...
