Voices, the world’s leading voice marketplace, releases its 2023 Annual Trends Report, pointing to the increasing number of consumers establishing audio routines, listening to their favorite podcasts or audiobooks while performing daily tasks.

London, Canada - January 12, 2023 /PressCable/ —
The recently released report suggests that 2023 will be a milestone year for audio advertising. With more individuals than ever before listening to podcasts while cooking, working out, or commuting to work, marketers are provided with an ideal opportunity to work with audio platforms like Spotify to improve their authority.

Voices' new report features the latest research in audio advertising, revealing that 81% of listeners take action after hearing an audio ad during a podcast and that 35% of consumers listen to more than 10 different podcasts per month. These figures suggest that audio routines present advertisers with significant growth potential they may want to consider.
The report highlights that the shift to this medium is mainly triggered by the convenience of audio experiences. Unlike television, movies, or traditional advertising that requires a person to stop and focus on what is written, audio advertising can be listened to while doing other tasks. Further, more people prefer listening to a podcast while performing different actions, such as exercising or doing household chores.
Voices expects more celebrities and influencers to join the audio-first medium. In 2022, A-list stars such as Hollywood filmmaker Jordan Peel partnered with Spotify to promote his audio experience, along with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and comedians Conan O’Brien and Will Arnett.
Voices CEO David Ciccarelli says, "2023 will be the year we see ‘audio routines’ become common language amongst our social networks. Just like we’ve discussed the drama in the latest episode of our favorite shows on the plethora of streaming services; we will see the same level of excitement and conversation around new audio experiences and podcasts."
Overall, the 2023 Annual Trend Report lists 3 main trends that are expected to influence the industry this year. These include the massive incorporation of audio routines into daily life, the increasing importance of audio quality, and the faster and easier way of creating content.

Results are rolling in from the 2026 US midterm elections in which the Democratic Party has won control of both chambers of Congress – the Senate and the House of Representatives – after a series of impressive victories in traditionally Republican strongholds, including Kansas and Texas. James Talarico, 37, won the Senate race in the latter state, becoming just one of several Democrats to secure historic victories that night. In doing so, he became the first Democrat Texas has elected to the...
There’s a relaxed, creative energy to Yogyakarta that sets it apart from Indonesia’s better-known tourist destinations. The Central Javanese city, known locally as Jogja, is home to a royal court and some of the country’s leading universities, along with galleries, independent shops and an abundance of street art. Its restaurants and cafes reflect some of that eclecticism, from traditional Javanese cooking to a French bistro popular with the city’s creative crowd. Here are five places to eat...
November 3 is an important date in American politics. The 2026 US midterm elections are under way, and Los Angeles voters are choosing their next mayor. Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman is challenging the city’s incumbent mayor, Karen Bass, 73, who is the first Black woman to ever hold that position. If Raman emerges victorious, the India-born politician will also make history as the first South Asian woman to serve as the city’s mayor. The 45-year-old Democrat previously endorsed...
Hong Kong media veteran Michelle Loo Mik-suet has worked in radio, TV and print, written books and even acted in films. She spoke to Andrew Sun. I will say my taste reflects that of a very local Hongkonger. Truly every time I travel back to Hong Kong, the first thing I want to eat is a bowl of congee or noodles. When I crave something from my childhood, I will go to Hung Kee (Shop B2, Block B, Kwong Sang Hong Building, 6 Heard Street, Wan Chai. Tel: 3708 8715). I like the pork bone congee and...

The hottest ingredient of 2026? It is not a new breed of truffle, chocolate-fed Wagyu, nor caviar on pearl spoons. Instead, this ingredient is far from new, dating back about 9,000 years: corn. Across New York, London and Japan, sweetcorn pastries, pastas and pizzas have captured the imagination of chefs, content creators and corn enthusiasts. In Hong Kong, the trend is no different, with a corn-focused eatery opening in the city’s Central neighbourhood and everything from corn shabu-shabu...
Edgar Tang was 32 and on holiday in London when a call from his doctor changed his life. He was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. His only symptom had been a swollen lymph node on the left side of his neck, something he had been inclined to ignore. The diagnosis left him contemplating his mortality, his future and how he would care for his parents. He recalls walking from Covent Garden towards the Tate Modern art gallery, crossing the Millennium...
Amsterdam has spent the past several years rolling out some of the most forceful anti-overtourism measures of any European capital. The city has restricted large cruise ships from docking at its central Passenger Terminal, repeatedly raised its tourist tax to among the highest levels in Europe, and launched public campaigns actively discouraging disruptive visitor behaviour. For travel professionals selling Amsterdam as a destination, these are not cosmetic changes. They signal a structural shift in what kind of tourism the city is willing to accommodate.
