SOSgarde (888-767-7330), an online caregiver job opportunity platform, announces that it has added new listings for babysitters in Cabbagetown, Toronto.

Pointe Claire, Canada - October 27, 2023 /PressCable/ —
The announcement addresses the growing need of many Canadian families for responsible babysitters. With SOSgarde, families can now easily search for a local caregiver who has the necessary skills for the specific job.

The newly added babysitters in Cabbagetown are typically teenagers to young adults who can speak both English and French. Depending on the specific needs of the family, the babysitter may perform basic housekeeping and cooking tasks. Families have the option to choose babysitters who live near them.
A survey conducted by Statistics Canada suggests that over half of Canadian children younger than 6 years old were in some sort of childcare, with 42% of parents stating that their work was directly affected when they were unable to find an affordable babysitter. The study further suggests that the inability to find a babysitter resulted in negative consequences for parents, who either had to change their work schedule, work fewer hours, or pay more than they wanted for childcare.
Addressing this, SOSgarde regularly updates its list of babysitters, nannies, and pet sitters so that Canadian families can find the help they need. After creating an account on the platform, families have immediate access to an entire list of available caregivers in their area. They can then personally message the candidate and set up a meeting with them at their convenience.
The platform was created by Paulina Podgorska, a single mom who personally understands the difficulties many families face when finding the right caretaker for them.
A spokesperson for the group wrote, "SOSgarde provides a link between families looking for nannies, babysitters, senior caregivers, special needs caregivers, pet sitters, and housekeepers offering their services on an occasional or regular basis, live-in or live-out, during school year or summer, at various rates."

It is easy to misremember the Hong Kong New Wave of the late 1970s and 80s. Nearly five decades after its inception, that iconic chapter in the city’s cinema history is generally thought of as a socially inclined art-house movement that addressed everyday issues – a stark contrast to the martial arts films that dominated the local box office at the time. While partially true, viewing New Wave films merely as local iterations of 1960s and 70s rarefied European art-house cinema misses the mark....

Over a quarter of men across the UK are hesitant to discuss their mental health with family or friends, fearing that their loved ones won’t be able to support them. One in five men also hide away from these key conversations, with a third (35 per cent) trying and failing to start a conversation for fear of not knowing how or when to approach the topic. The findings come from the latest research from VisitGuernsey* – the Channel Island that welcomes more than 150,000 visitors from the UK a year, famous for its natural spaces, slower way of living and well-being focussed lifestyle – who have identified that talking about mental health can be daunting, and for many, the fear of burdening family and friends remains a significant barrier to seeking help.
