March 30, 2023 - /PressAdvantage/ - Chu Vision Institute, a premier vision correction center in the Twin Cities area, has recently published a blog post titled, “LASIK Recovery,” by Ralph Chu, MD. The article points out that the LASIK procedure is painless. Patients are offered a mild oral sedative to help them relax and the eyelids are gently held open with a soft separator so there is no need to worry about blinking. The procedure itself takes only a few minutes. Afterward, the patient is taken to the recovery area to relax, after which, Dr. Chu will check the patient’s eyes to ensure everything looks great before heading home. The patient will be given instructions on what to do during recovery and will be provided with eye drops and other supplies.
Dr. Chu says, “One of the many excellent aspects of LASIK surgery is its quick recovery. For both eyes, the actual procedure only takes around 15 minutes. You should expect to spend around an hour and a half in our clinic on the day of your LASIK surgery at Chu Vision Institute, even though the actual procedure is brief..”
The initial recovery period will last around six to 12 hours. This may vary depending on the individual. Some patients may notice that their vision has improved significantly after the procedure while others may need a few days. .
There are a few things that patients can do to help their vision stabilize after the procedure. These include: avoiding rubbing or touching the eyes; limiting screen time and keeping the eyes closed as much as possible on the first day after surgery; following the directions provided by the doctor; wearing sunglasses when going outside; complying with follow-up appointments; and avoiding saunas, hot tubs, swimming, and contact sports for two weeks after the procedure.
Patients can take a shower the day after LASIK, but they should take care not to get soap on their eyes to avoid irritation. They should take all the prescription medication, artificial tears, and lubricating eye drops are prescribed by the doctor, and the best possible advice is to relax and rest for the first 12 to 24 hours after surgery.
At Chu Vision Institute, Dr. Ralph Chu and his team of experts are ready to perform LASIK and many other ultramodern vision correction procedures. Dr. Chu says, “Our experts will determine if you are a candidate for LASIK, or one of our other amazing procedures, and suggest the right treatment plan during your free consultation that is tailored to your unique eyes. This year’s edition of A taste for skiing places the world of plants at the heart of the programme. Herbs, roots, vegetables, flowers, seeds and fruits provide inspiration for the participating chefs, who will interpret these ingredients creatively in dishes served at Alta Badia’s mountain huts. The theme also highlights the close relationship between nature and the changing seasons, elements that have always been deeply connected to the mountains and their culinary traditions.

Is bespoke jewellery a modern fashion statement? Are jewels designed and made exclusively for a wearer the ultimate expression of the individual? According to the Business of Fashion’s “Face to Face with Luxury Clients” report, “emotional connection is the number one driver of luxury brand desirability in both the US and China – above craftsmanship, heritage and logo recognition”. I spent a week in Warsaw and ate more pierogi than I could shake a stick at. These beloved traditional Polish dumplings come filled with potatoes, cheese, meat, mushrooms and even fruit. Boiled or fried, they may look familiar to anyone acquainted with jiaozi, the Chinese dumpling, although their flavours are distinctly Polish. This is not to suggest that dumplings travelled directly from China to Poland. One theory posits that dumpling-like foods – from Nepalese momo and Central Asian and...
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Marie Antoinette, director Sofia Coppola’s third film. Starring Kirsten Dunst as the Queen of France and Jason Schwartzman as King Louis XVI, the film is still remembered for its performances, cool soundtrack and Oscar-winning costume design, not to mention the countless trays of Ladurée macarons and Manolo Blahnik heels that also played pivotal roles. The film’s enduring legacy lies in its ability to present historical narrative in a modern, vibrant way....
Recently, an acquaintance told me about her brother’s marriage break-up. “They had sex once in eight years,” she said – as if that were the sole reason. It would not have been: the couple’s collapsing relationship was the reason. The absence of sex – except for that single occasion in eight years – was a symptom that likely made it worse. It raises the question, though: is there a sweet spot for sex in a relationship? How many times a week or a month should we be “doing it” to keep a...
Buckingham Palace has forcefully denied a claim by the brother of the late Princess Diana that King Charles III said his ex-wife would soon be forgotten after her death. In a new book, Charles Spencer recounts the traumatic days after Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997 at the age of 36. He alleges that he argued with his sister’s former husband over palace plans for Prince William and Prince Harry, then aged 15 and 12, to walk behind her coffin during the funeral...

4/5 stars Lead cast: Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook, Nana Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liaisons), an 18th century novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, is an erotically charged tale of aristocrats indulging in illicit games of seduction that may not seem like an ideal fit for a Joseon-era Korean adaptation at first. The period’s patriarchal nature, however, makes it the perfect backdrop for The Scandal, Netflix’s glossy adaptation of the novel starring Son Ye-jin (No Other Choice), Ji...
