PALM DESERT, Calif - February 4, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Disaster Survival Skills, LLC, launched its brand-new online Family disaster preparedness calculator. After inputting a few simple pieces of information, Disaster Survival Skills site visitors will receive a customized list of disaster supplies and advice that can be used to prepare for earthquakes, floods, and other emergencies. As one of the nation's leading providers of disaster supplies and emergency response training services, Disaster Survival Skills is well positioned to help others make sure that they are prepared for emergencies of any kind. The new calculator is entirely free to use and is one of a number of helpful free resources at the Disaster Survival Skills website.
"Preparing for a disaster is the kind of thing that many families put off until it's too late, but the fact is that it's also often a lot easier than most would expect," said Wayne Bennett, founder of Disaster Survival Skills, "Over my 33 years as a professional firefighter and disaster response professional, I came to truly appreciate how even a bit of strategic preparation could make a real difference. Our new calculator makes it easier than ever before to get started and will also highlight how far even a little bit of preparation can go. We all owe it to ourselves and our families to be prepared for the worst, and we think our new calculator is going to be a big help."
Seismologists have warned for years about the danger of a so-called "megaquake" devastating the Pacific Northwest upon the rupture of the region's Cascadian Subduction Zone. Even given a seven to 15 percent 50-year likelihood of an earthquake measuring 9.0 or higher on the Richter scale, though, many remain unprepared. A 2015 survey by Oregon Public Broadcasting of that state's residents, for example, found that only 12 percent characterized themselves as "very prepared," with over half believing their local communities were conspicuously lacking in preparedness.
The new Disaster Survival Skills preparedness calculator is designed to make it as simple as possible to figure out what could be needed in the aftermath of such a disaster or others. After being provided with a bit of information, the calculator creates a detailed report customized for each user. In addition to listing quantities of supplies that should be stockpiled and precautions to be taken, the new calculator also provides links to informative resources covering topics relevant to each.
With a full range of supplies to offer, from the company's popular Family emergency kit to individual items, Disaster Survival Skills can also help make it easier to follow up on the calculator's recommendations. The new calculator is online now at the Disaster Survival Skills website and takes only seconds to use.

A human skull was carried into a Czech town in late September as part of the country’s observance of St Wenceslas Day, officially the day of Czech statehood. The public holiday honours Wenceslas, the 10th century ruler later venerated as the patron saint of the Czech lands and the “Good King Wenceslas” of the familiar Christmas carol. Wenceslas (Václav in Czech) was born around 907 and became ruler of Bohemia as a teenager. Raised as a Christian, he promoted Christianity – then relatively new to...

You spend the evening alone on your couch, decline a party invitation or prefer to stay at home instead of going out to a pub or cafe. Some people withdraw, consciously or unconsciously, from social interactions. Sometimes it is just a phase that can help you recharge your social battery. If it is prolonged, however, it can be harmful to your health. People naturally need time for themselves, say, after partying or during stressful periods in their lives. It is perfectly normal to keep to...

Briley King, who is married to country musician Marcus King and has been labelled “country music’s most hated wife”, announced in September that she was hard-launching her own music career. After occasionally joining her husband on stage for a few couple duets, Briley debuted her first release, Huswife, on September 17, which includes her debut songs “Bad Guy” and “Keepin’ Caroline”. Unfortunately, her foray into the music scene has not been well received by many who have flooded Briley’s...
