There were over 50,000 company mergers and acquisition deals in 2017 worldwide, representing over $3.5 Trillion USD in transactional value, according to Thomson Reuters. This was purportedly the highest M&A number since 2007-2008. The IMMA Institute records over 18,000 of those were North American companies. In every merger of businesses, hiccups arise as various corporate cultures collide and incongruities in management styles are brought into focus. This causes decreases in employee morale and in turn, in productivity, which can represent billions of dollars in lost revenue and thousands of man-hours in lost productivity.
To help ameliorate these transition problems, M&A transition agencies are often employed to help salve corporate wounds and speed up overall transition recovery time on a company-wide level. Syncopated Consulting of Chicago IL is one such company. Helmed by corporate transition expert Abby Dryer, Syncopated Consulting helps medium-sized businesses currently undergoing or expecting to undergo various growth changes, including new leadership coming in, hierarchical restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other major projects that invariably change the way employees work on a day-to-day level.
Syncopated Consulting has recently announced that its focus has shifted from purely Chicago based business to have a national scope. When asked what specifically Syncopated Consulting offered, Dryer had this to say:
“What I care about the most is that people enjoy going to work. I’ve seen too many people get sick from the stress that comes from the uncertainty of not knowing what’s happening with your company, your boss, or your job. My aim with Syncopated Consulting is to help companies empower their teams to do what’s necessary for the company to achieve their vision while still having the opportunity to lead interesting and fulfilling personal lives.”
Ms. Dryer also runs AskAbbyDryer.com, one which she has published various digital articles and video on a wide range of topics, including change management, which can be viewed here: http://askabbydryer.com/what-is-change-management/
