Furnace Repair Ottawa Helps Customers Learn About the Different Types of HVAC Systems that are Available

Apr 3, 2020

April 03, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Furnace Repair Ottawa advises those that are thinking about purchasing a new HVAC system to first learn about HVAC systems that are available in the marketplace. The company says that nowadays there are many types to choose from. Each of them has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. They say that buying a new HVAC system is a major purchase that is done on average only once every 15 – 20 years. That makes it very important to do the necessary research so that any new HVAC purchase gets done right.

Company spokesperson, Bryan Holt, talked about this more by saying, “If you're in the market for a new heating and cooling system for your home, you owe it to yourself before making a purchase to learn about the different types of HVAC systems that are available. This will help you better understand which type of HVAC system will give you the most comfort and energy efficiency based on your particular home heating and cooling needs. Once armed with this information, it will give you the best chance of making an HVAC purchase that you will be pleased with long into the future.”

Holt says that the most popular types of HVAC systems that have been installed over the years are systems that use a furnace that blows hot air through a series of ductwork into a home. These can also have convenient air conditioning systems added on to them very easily. He says that although huge improvements have been made in the efficiency of HVAC systems that use whole-house air ducts, other forms of HVAC are closing in on them in popularity. According to Holt, one of those is boiler systems that move steam or heated water into baseboard radiators. People like them because they have proven to be very energy efficient. They also have very few working parts and that means maintenance and repairs need to be done on them less often. Boiler systems also can be made to provide limitless hot water to a home.

The company spokesperson says that other types of HVAC systems that are worth considering include radiant floor heating, which is also known as a hydronic heating system. These use piping under a floor and are made up of flexible tubes that are filled with water or a glycol solution. The heat produced by these units fills an entire room with heat more efficiently than forced-air HVAC systems. Also available are easy to install mini-ductless HVAC split systems that work great for detached buildings or additions and forced-air HVAC systems that have advanced energy-efficient zone control features built into them.

Holt also reminded that for those who are happy with their current HVAC system to don't forget about regular furnace inspections. He says periodic furnace inspections are essential when it comes to keeping an HVAC clean and operating at peak efficiency. When inspections are done infrequently it can result in higher energy bills and take away from the useful life of the system. The spokesperson says that inspections should be done on at least a yearly basis. HVAC tune-ups should take place in the early fall to make sure heating systems are ready to go for the cold season or the early spring for those that have air conditioners attached to their HVAC system. Holt says that many times when their techs do HVAC inspections and tune-ups, they can also catch and resolve small issues before they become bigger and more costly repairs.

The company spokesperson also mentioned that they are always there for their customers that have an after-hours heating or air conditioning emergency. They offer 24/7 emergency HVAC repairs. Holt says they will even respond to heating and air conditioning emergencies late at night, on weekends, and on major holidays.

Holt suggests that those who want more information on the different types of HVAC systems that they supply and install refer to their website. He says their website also contains several ways to contact them and has blog posts that give helpful furnace tips and advice.

How a Los Angeles church was reborn as a hotel – and why more could follow

There is a cross on the roof, stained glass windows and a choir loft upstairs, but this whitewashed three-level building near Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, is no longer a house of worship. It is the Hotel Lucile, a 25-room boutique lodging that opened in September 2026 with a restaurant and bar in the high-ceilinged sanctuary where church-goers once gathered. This opening follows more than a decade of controversy and transformation, including a community debate, bankruptcy and...

Style Edit: Boucheron’s ivy motif blooms with new Lierre de Paris high jewellery creations

Ivy has a way of making itself at home. It climbs, curls and spreads with little regard for where it is supposed to stop, taking over walls and trees with its fast-growing natural architecture. For Frédéric Boucheron, that freedom was precisely the attraction. Of all the plants that appeared in his jewellery, ivy became one of the most persistent – a fitting symbol for a jeweller who was drawn to nature in its less orderly forms. The motif entered the Boucheron archives in 1870 and, by the end...

An innovator who redefined the artistic preferences of her era, she established the wildly influential empire style of architecture and decorative arts, using her own...

Boucheron CEO Hélène Poulit-Duquesne on Histoire de Style and Carte Blanche

In 2020, Hélène Poulit-Duquesne, CEO of Boucheron, made a bold move in the very traditional world of high jewellery. High jewellery – or haute joaillerie in French – is a very niche segment of the jewellery industry, akin to haute couture in fashion. Think one-of-a-kind creations made with the most precious metals and rarest stones, often requiring years of handiwork. Founded in 1858 and the first jeweller to be based in Paris’ Place Vendôme, Boucheron is known for its unique approach to the...

Can HRT help prevent dementia? New research suggests it might, depending on key factors

This is the 99th instalment in a series on dementia, including the research into its causes and treatment, advice for carers and stories of hope. Will using hormone replacement therapy (HRT) preserve a woman’s brain health and protect her from dementia or not? The debate continues. Various studies have looked at the effects of menopause and hormone treatment on the brain – and dementia risk. Some have suggested that HRT has no impact on brain health in older women, and that it has a neutral...
