While many homeowners plan to replace windows, doors, siding and roofing in the spring, when the weather is fair, costs can be higher during the warmer months when contractors are very busy. The report indicates that whenever possible, home owners should seek to order during colder months to get installations in milder weather rather than during warm weather because installation may be weeks out, which can often take the home owner into the colder months, leaving the property exposed to the harsh elements. Marc Cowan, the owner of Highland Window Company, explains that as long as the temperature remains around 30 degrees, if customers wish to replace windows doors and siding during the winter, it can save them money to do so.
