Gregorstan Wolforfox - The Dog Pack Unleash Eclectic Musical Theater Experience: UNDERGROUND BUNKUM

Chicago, Illinois Sep 19, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - A new music ensemble has emerged from obscurity, Gregorstan Wolforfox and the Dog Pack.  With the release of a new album and accompanying DVD of 10 music-videos titled UNDERGROUND BUNKUM, this band has come from nowhere to take on a world tour or any bar or concert venue in between.

UNDERGROUND BUNKUM is produced by Don Kaufman, the founder of Digital Box Records.  Kaufman also played all drums and percussion on the album and scripted and produced the music videos, one for each of the ten songs on the album - which visually elevates the meaning of the music to a higher dimension.

Gregorstan Wolforfox is a skilled and talented singer, who literally does not know where he came from.  He has a strong voice, expressing feeling with intensity throughout a wide vocal range.  He applies his operatic training to navigate challenging intervals and rhythms within the songs without a trace of the pretentiousness of the classical concert hall.

The songs are composed by the band's keyboard player, M.J. Berger.  The Dog Pack is rounded out by lead guitarist John Moran, who incorporates many elaborately tasteful riffs and fills on tracks where guitar then glitters as the featured instrument. 

The ten songs deal with modern social issues from an intentionally non-serious plane of consciousness.  The musical influences combine uniquely from styles including rock, country, and folk music, mixed with flavorings of British pub music, renaissance modes and the music of wandering European tribes, arranged and orchestrated into a style that defies simple classification along the usual subcultures that define popular music.  The closest accurate reference to the album genre would likely be eclectic, avant-garde best suited to musical theater.

The songs' music videos exemplify a recently noticeable trend in the public's general taste.  Today's audiences are receptive to and once again appreciating melody and the simplicity, directness, and attributes of music embraced by earlier generations.  Today's audiences are currently embracing music that prioritizes quality in the melody and chord progressions, with understandable lyrics in plain English.  Gregorstan Wolforfox & The Dog Pack welcome this embrace, without disparaging anyone wanting otherwise.  The music of UNDERGROUND BUNKUM is composed and structured more intricately than most popular music today, with more chord and rhythmic changes, a broader range of vocals, and difficult to define genre or musical style for many of the songs - though several are also intentionally portrayed in the quite familiar predominant modes of country or rock.

Among the unusual feature of these songs, the musical arrangements do not usually adhere to any routine verse and chorus structure.  Some songs are composed and arranged to build gradually in intensity in the manner of an operetta scene.   

The album opens with CLIMATE CHANGE, a commentary on the state of the central controversy of our time - followed by a tribute country-styled "waltz" commemorating the TRUCK DRIVER.  Two songs that follow are BISON OF THE PLAIN and DEBTORS' PRISON, a revisitation to an earlier America as they refocus perspective onto today's massive national and student loan debt.  From that point forward, the album returns to other current hot button issues with TEACHERS' LOUNGE and MODERN PIONEER, highlighting the world of high-technology, robotics and a future on Mars. 

The compositions on UNDERGROUND BUNKUM produce the tangible consequence of a joyful and freshly inventive, rarely heard entertainment experience.

The songs are available individually or as a playlist through all the music streaming services. Additionally, ten music videos, one for each song on the album can also be viewed at Youtube on the Digital Box Records channel. It is also intended that the ten compositions that comprise UNDERGROUND BUNKUM be eventually performed on a theatrical stage for audiences of seated musical theater patrons.
