New Study Shows Only 6% of People Achieve Their Goals and Reveals Their Secret Formula

Oct 4, 2023

A new study by Dr. Michelle Rozen demonstrates that only 6% of people who want to change something in their lives actually succeed. The study found that there is a strong correlation between goal commitment and category in the case of those people who succeeded.

United States - October 4, 2023 /MarketersMEDIA/ —

The research, which was published in the Open Journal of Social Sciences, was conducted by Dr. Michelle Rozen in the United States from early 2023 to mid 2023. For this study, Dr. Rozen interviewed 999 people about the goals they set as New Year’s Resolution.

Out of the total number of participants, 815 (81.6%) set personal development goals in January. Out of them, only 53, or 6.5%, were still pursuing their goal in June. Out of the 762 people that set a goal and abandoned it, 729, or 95.7%, dropped it by the end of February. These findings support the University of Scranton’s research that 50% of Americans make some yearly New Year’s Resolutions, but less than half of the same group continued working on their resolutions for the past six months.

“The study reveals what the 6% do in order to actually follow through with the goals that they set for themselves. So many people around the world are extremely frustrated these days; they want to live better, feel better, and do better, but feel stuck. The 6% formula is a true game-changer and has tremendous impact not only on people's success in following through with their goals, but also on their happiness and mental wellness as a result. Making a change is actually simple - you just need to know how to do it,” said Dr. Michelle Rozen.

The study also found that goal commitment has a significant relationship with goal categories. For example, 9.6% of those who set fitness goals were still pursuing them in June, while only 3.4% of those who set money and finance goals did not drop them after the first 6 months.

Joining the 6% Movement

Based on the results of the study, Dr. Michelle Rozen is now writing a transformative book unveiling the secret sauce of the persistent 6%. Slated for a mid-2024 release, it promises insights to mold, chase, and conquer one's personal development goals.

Dr. Rozen also plans to document her book writing journey. Everyone who is interested to learn more about the process can join the 6% club. Members enjoy an exclusive peek into her writing process, valuable tips on goal-setting, and, post-launch, the golden chance to be among the founding torchbearers of the 6% club – an elite circle for those unyielding in their quest for personal growth.

We recently hosted visitors from Malaysia at our place in the Czech Republic, happily guiding them around Prague and several places beyond the capital, including a few that were new to us, too. There was much conviviality as the six of us explored beautiful Czech cities and towns, sampled hearty local cuisine and slipped effortlessly into the distinctive Malaysian-Singaporean patois – a lively hybrid of English, Chinese, Malay and some Indian vocabulary and syntax – that comes naturally to many...

How procrastination can harm your physical and mental health, and practical tips to stop it

“Have you made that doctor’s appointment about the lump on your back yet?” your spouse asks. You sheepishly mumble that you have not. Walking past a packed wardrobe – a daily reminder of a decluttering project put off for months – you settle onto the sofa to finish binge-watching that new Netflix series. Sound familiar? Procrastination is no big deal; everyone puts off tasks they don’t want to do, right? Wrong, according to Fuschia Sirois, a professor of social and health psychology at Durham...
