As such, he specializes in advanced vascular procedures, which include vascular laser therapy for the treatment of varicose veins, laser ablation, and body countouring. . He also specializes in advanced catheter-based techniques including angioplasty, laser ablation, and ambulatory phlebectomy.
In addition to serving as the medical director at ACP Vein Center in Wayne, he serves as Medical Director of the Cardiovascular lab at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital. He also maintains privileges as an attending physician at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Ghassemi serves as a proctor and teaches the method of laser varicose vein treatment to other physicians and residents. He has served as a clinical instructor of Medicine on the faculty of Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia since 1991and has been active in teaching medical residents at St Joseph's Hospital and Health Center for over 25 years.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Dr. Ghassemi has been an accomplished physician and educator. He graduated with honors from Paramus High School and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
His internship and residency in internal medicine were completed at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia in 1991. He completed his fellowship at Hahnemann University Hospital in 1994 and at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 1995.
Utilizing the most advanced laser technology in the treatment of his patients, he has perfected the science and art of minimally invasive catheter-based procedures under local anesthesia.
Dr. Ghassemi is also an active member of the American College of Phlebology, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians. He has been featured on local TV news shows, radio, social media, and local newspapers.
Phlebology is a branch of medicine concerned with the veins and vascular anatomy of the legs. A phlebologist is a medical specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of venous origin utilizing laser technology and minimally invasive procedures.
Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Ghassemi has been the recipient of the Patients' Choice Award (2012, 2011, 2009, 2008) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012).
Happily married, he is the father of two children.
