Stephen Shaya, M.D., Executive Servant Leader at J&B Medical and Managing Director of Akkad Holdings is a recipient of the Pontifical Hero Award for Inspiration for promoting social change through his commitment and work to improve human health and preserve the environment.
"I was truly honored to receive this recognition from the Pontifical Council for Culture and the Cura Foundation at the Fifth International Vatican Conference," Dr. Shaya said. "My grandmother and my father always passionately believed that the world needs to find solutions to make health care for the poor preventative, accessible and affordable. They took every opportunity to make a difference in peoples' lives who could never afford to repay them. They will always be my inspiration from Heaven and heroes to me."
"We are honored to recognize individuals who through their generosity, compassion, wisdom and leadership inspire hope to improve human health and increase the quality of life around the world and congratulate Dr. Stephen Shaya," said Robin Smith, M.D., M.B.A., founder and president of the Cura Foundation.
