TransgenderIndia Launches world’s first Online gender transition courses
May 17, 2023
Mangalore – 16th May, 2023 – On the day of International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). TransgenderIndia, a pioneering organization dedicated to empowering the transgender community, announces the release of the world’s first online gender transition course platform designed to provide medical, legal and social transition resources for transgender individuals. This groundbreaking initiative marks a significant step towards fostering inclusivity and combating discrimination faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly transgender individuals.
TransgenderIndia’s online platform features a vast collection of videos and courses, in both English and hindi language meticulously designed to provide step-by-step guidance about medical , legal and social transition. These resources not only assist individuals in seeking appropriate transition support but also offer valuable insights into the process, helping them navigate it with confidence and without fear.
On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), TransgenderIndia sheds light on the prevalent transphobia experienced by transgender individuals in the medical community in India. Despite the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) classifying gender dysphoria as a non-pathological condition, many doctors in India still perceive it as a disease. However, a small number of trans-friendly doctors in the country offer support to transgender individuals seeking to undergo a gender transition. To address this issue, TransgenderIndia has developed specialized medical transition courses aimed at assisting transgender individuals in their journey towards transition.
On a legal front, government ID cards are required for various everyday activities, such as purchasing a SIM card, taking a train, or booking a hotel room etc. However, lakhs of transgender individuals, face challenges in proving their Indian citizenship, let alone obtaining or transferring government ID cards and educational degrees. While the government has established a process for changing gender on legal documents, many transgender people are unaware of it. TransgenderIndia’s courses bridges these gaps and provides the necessary knowledge and guidance.
For the courses TransgenderIndia has partnered with qualified professionals, including doctors, lawyers, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), who possess extensive experience and a proven track record of delivering exceptional care to the transgender community. These experts specialize in areas such as psychiatry, hormone replacement therapy, surgery, legal matters, and employment opportunities, ensuring comprehensive support across various aspects of transgender individuals’ lives.
“Through my personal experience of transitioning in India, I have come to realize the complexity, risks and dangers associated with the process. Sadly, many transgender individuals are compelled to hide their true identity due to these obstacles and societal stigma,” said Neysara, Founder and Director of TransgenderIndia. “Our courses aim to provide essential support and resources to those who have no choice but to undergo the difficult journey of transitioning.”
TransgenderIndia’s offerings include courses that delve into topics such as Hormone Replacement therapy, surgery, coming out, legal gender changes, equal employment opportunities etc both in Hindi and English. Tailored specifically to address the needs of the Indian transgender community, these courses present a world of possibilities, empowering individuals to embrace their authentic identities and find contentment in their lives. TransgenderIndia Sets Global First with Revolutionary Concept
“We have dedicated over two years of relentless effort, from course design to rigorous testing, to bring this initiative to life. The journey involved extensive collaboration with doctors, lawyers, and various professionals, as well as meticulous recording and presentation of our hard work. Today, I am immensely proud to contribute to our community in such a meaningful manner.” Said Paras K Dogra, Project Manager TransgenderIndia.com
TransgenderIndia’s online resources are accessible to everyone, aiming to bridge the knowledge gap and serve as a beacon of hope for transgender individuals seeking guidance, understanding, and support. For more information and to access the platform, visit https://transgenderindia.com/.

The Journey Before the Journey: The Psychology of Planning a Vacation
A vacation begins long before a suitcase is packed. It begins in an ordinary moment: a tiring afternoon, a conversation with a friend, a photograph of somewhere unfamiliar. Suddenly, the mind moves beyond its immediate surroundings. We imagine waking without an alarm, sharing an unhurried meal or standing somewhere that makes our everyday concerns feel smaller. Planning a vacation gives that imagined life a date, a destination and the possibility of becoming real.

Why the 1960 film The Wild, Wild Rose is the late Grace Chang’s greatest cinematic triumph
Grace Chang, also known by her stage name Ge Lan, died in August at the age of 93. She is widely remembered today for her lively performance in Mambo Girl, the 1957 Chinese-language musical that made her a star. Famed for pure roles expressing the aspirations of would-be middle-class Hong Kong girls, Chang initially played characters who were hip, popular, socially adept, conscientious and relatively well-off, possessing no hint of sexuality; her character in Mambo Girl is almost...
Klara and the Sun review: Jenna Ortega is an android in upbeat but saccharine sci-fi fable
3/5 stars Taika Waititi, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Jojo Rabbit (2019), brings his trademark quirk to Klara and the Sun, a sunny-side-up sci-fi fable that occasionally delivers flashes of darkness. Based on Kazuo Ishiguro’s 2021 novel of the same name, the film is set in a future where AI companions are the norm. The effervescent Klara (Jenna Ortega) is one such android, albeit a discontinued B1 model now being hawked from a city discount store. Klara’s escape comes when a young girl,...

Nina Christen has redefined luxury footwear at Dior and Loewe – now she’s doing it with her own label
Of the Celine alumni who worked under Phoebe Philo and later emerged as influential figures in fashion – including Matthieu Blazy, Daniel Lee, Nadège Vanhee and Michael Rider – Nina Christen is perhaps the least known. Yet the Swiss-Chilean designer is behind some of luxury footwear’s most distinctive silhouettes. If over the last two decades you’ve swapped your pumps for combat boots, square-toe heeled sandals or supple leather loafers, you may have Christen to thank. Besides Celine, her résumé...
The ancient Chinese warrior queen who led huge armies to victory and stole a king’s heart
Fu Hao is one of the earliest documented female military generals in history, yet relatively little is known about her. Most of the information gathered about her life is from her tomb. One thing we do know is that she lived during the Shang dynasty (1600BC-1046BC), before the unification of China. Fu’s tomb was excavated in 1976. Its contents led archaeologists to conclude she was a high-ranking royal consort and military general who commanded some of the largest armies of her time. So, who...
