A newly announced card processing setup from Clearo Payments now covers copays, patient balances and payment plans for medical and dental clinics in the United States and Canada, with interchange-plus pricing and a dedicated account rep.
Palm Beach Gardens, United States, October 28, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Clearo Payments announces a payment processing offering for medical and dental practices in the United States and Canada, designed to lower card processing costs while making patient payments easier to collect.

The announcement arrives as patients report paying more out of pocket than under previous governments. CMS actuaries estimate that out-of-pocket health spending reached $591.1 billion in 2025, up 6.2 percent from 2024, with the same growth projected for 2026, according to figures published in Health Affairs in June. That puts a growing volume of patient payments at the front desk and in follow-up billing, where Clearo’s invoicing, payment-plan and terminal tools apply.
Healthcare billing differs from retail: patients pay copays at the front desk, receive balances weeks later once insurance has paid its share, and often need installment plans for larger procedures. Clearo's new offering covers all three in a single setup, says the company.
Clearo Payments points to higher average transaction amounts in medical and dental practices as the reason pricing structure counts for more on a clinic’s statement, estimating that the difference between flat-rate and interchange-plus pricing on a $500 dental procedure can run $5 to $8 per transaction. Its new interchange-plus model itemizes what each card type costs rather than blending every card into one flat percentage, with rates set practice by practice.
At the front desk, compact terminals handle chip and tap payments for copays and walk-in visits, with Interac debit supported in Canada, explains Clearo. Patient invoices go out as branded emails with a Pay Now button so balances can be paid online, while recurring billing runs weekly or monthly payment plans for large balances and sends alerts when a payment fails. A virtual terminal covers phone payments. Cards are accepted through hosted checkout and standalone terminals rather than being stored by the practice, and Clearo provides PCI compliance support.
Furthermore, Clearo Payments assigns every practice a dedicated account rep instead of a call centre, and accounts carry no long-term contract or cancellation fee.
Practice owners and office managers can book a free consultation and statement review, which lays out what a practice currently pays, through the Medical & Dental page at https://clearopayments.com/industries/medical-dental/

The cruise promised a lifetime of sailing, for less than what it cost to live on land. But it was underfunded and couldn’t absorb the rising cost of fuel.

Christmas market season is approaching, but beyond Europe’s best-known festive destinations, some of the continent’s most atmospheric celebrations can be found further north. Across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, Christmas markets take over historic squares, open-air museums and even forests, bringing together local crafts, Nordic design, seasonal food and traditions that have been celebrated for generations. For travellers looking for something a little different this winter, Nordic travel specialist Off The Map Travel has selected six Christmas markets worth putting on the radar for 2026, from Stockholm’s century-old Skansen market to Bergen’s enormous gingerbread city.
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria and one of Europe’s oldest cities, will once again embrace the magic of Christmas with Sofia Christmas Fest 2026.
