Dr. Vasilev, the lead physician at Lotus Endometriosis Institute, is a quadruple board-certified surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in minimally invasive and robotic excision surgery. He is also a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist with experience handling complex, multi-organ procedures involving the bowel, bladder, and ureters, which require specialized surgical judgment and experience beyond routine gynecologic training.
“That background is particularly relevant for patients whose endometriosis has spread beyond the reproductive organs or who have undergone previous surgeries without lasting relief,” the spokesperson added.
